JULIE MENELAOU

I am a visual artist, and my primary concerns are to find a language to communicate using mixed media oils, acrylic and inks. I question the negative space compared to the positive and find myself exploring quiet passages that form in between. Its a process, and in this process a kind of dialogue between myself and my work unfolds.  I never start a painting with a clear idea of how its going to look when its finished; this develops through the process; its like a conversation between myself and what I’m seeing as I try to understand how I want to translate this information.
